director of the behavioral medicine program
at FGH.
Fairmont Psychiatric Services o"ers care
for a wide variety of mental health condi-
tions, including depression, anxiety and
Alzheimer’s disease. Services provided
include diagnosis and treatment of mental
disorders in adults and seniors, medication
management, and individual counseling.

Hospital rallied to support the "rst em-
ployee giving campaign by making one-
year pledges totaling $48,500. Employees
who made gi#s and pledges became mem-
bers of FAMILY (Fostering and Making
Investments Lasting Years), an employee
gi#s committee formed in July 2011.
“%e employees have worked extremely
hard to raise these funds and are extremely
supportive of Fairmont General Hospital,”
says Frank Pulice Jr., foundation director.

Fairmont General Hospital. %e goal of
the campaign is to raise awareness for
early detection and, ultimately, decrease
the death rate from breast cancer in
Marion County, which is 25 percent
higher than the national or state average.
FAMILY’s contributions bring the total
dollars raised to $294,000, toward the
campaign’s $500,000 goal to be completed
September 2012.
“During the employee campaign, pre-
sentations were held to portray the impact
breast cancer has had on our community,
our employees and our volunteers,” says
Whitney Rae Hatcher, foundation coor-
dinator. “Pledge cards were then distrib-
uted by department directors to ensure
that every employee knew about the
campaign.”
